Bug Report

My first effort here must have been bushwacked by the hack attack. I'll try again:

I'll start a running list here of anything readers have found which doesn't work.

FYI: My results may not be common to many readers! I'm using Title Bout as a manager's-competition game. WTBA boxers (in addition to being bare breasted) also are relatively equal at the beginning of their careers. Historically, this is not accurate since not all of the competitors really are boxers or have boxing training. Boxers like Elena Reid, Mia St. John, or Regina Halmich (who box in women's halters but have appeared bare-breasted in boxing-gear photo shoots) are in the pool with the DWW girls (who actually box bare-breasted), the old LGIS group (sparring while concurrently acting), DT and GMC (mostly acting only), and outright posers. In real life, Reid would whup someone like Tanya Danielle not just 100 per cent of the time but probably in the first 30 seconds. But, in the WTBA, each of these individuals has a profile which places her initially at the bottom of the "6" rating on the ladder. Such fantasy profiles have no links to, e.g., boxrec, and this may explain some of the following problems.

1. Importing fighters from 2.5 distorts some data. In my situation, the nationalities and flags incorporated falsely. For example, American fighters' profiles displayed the flag of Uruguay, and English fighters' profiles displayed the flag of Swaziland. However, when (for example) I imported Elena Reid from the set-up pool (her real profile), everything imported correctly.

2. As many as one in three of my fantasy profiles did more than show a false flag: They crashed the game. I found the only cure here was to re-enter as a "new" fighter the 2.5 profile by hand (which takes a terrible amount of time). Recall that a similar problem surfaced previously re Argentinian fighters. I assume this one is similar, involving some kind of corruption or misreading of the 2.5 data at transfer.

3. My bout logs are showing black print on a charcoal background -- impossible to read. I am using Open Office from Oracle/Apache, not MS Word. Do not know if these are related.

4. I also found that the blue print, when displayed against the dark background, was not that readable. By comparison, the yellow print which appeared on the Scheduler's bout-results page really jumped out (but of course it would not be that visible against white).

5. In 2.5, it is possible (by unchecking the "update" box and leaving "save" checked) to call up bout logs associated with any Scheduler simulation involving multiple bouts. So far, I've been unable to make this happen in 2013, and that makes the multiple-simulation feature almost useless to me. This feature should be restored.

I'm still wrasslin' with the problem of the license expiring every Saturday night unless I reconnect to the internet. Paul says this was fixed in 1.3, but so far I've yet to find an available copy of this update. For being shut out of the game much of the time (at least for now), I may not have found all the glitches. If others surface, I'll report them here.

Because of the license problem, progress is slow; however, I've found another one:

Loaded two WTBA fighters, Karen Baker and Tina Antman, into Scheduler and tried to simulate 999 bouts as a terst. Antman was an amateur topless boxer/actress now living in Amsterdam and Baker an English fantasy fighter out of Swindon/Birmingham (so neither have boxrec records -- everything imported from TB2.5). The simulation crashed completely after only 9 bouts were completd, generating the following error message:

Error: The file C:\Users\Arbie\Documents\tbcb2013\saved_games\Women's Topless Boxing Association\bout_results\LatestBout.html could not be created!

This problem previously was reported by another though without details. Apparently it is yet to be fixed.

In addition, once the crash occurred, the desktop remained configured to the wrong resolution, the game eventually froze in place (there is no button set at the top to kill it), and I had to turn off the computer, using the master start button, generating reconfiguration of Windows 7 and loss of the Windows Media Player icon on the desktop.

Not a good morning!

Arbie

I just noticed that, unlike TB2.5, I cannot click on the belt of the opening screen to get to P.I.S.D.

Is this a bug? Or, was the option removed?

F1 or clicking on the medic kit on the lockers will take you to the manual, and there's a link to all things P.I.S.D. at the top of that page on the page bar to the left.
