A few questions please.

Post by jdphx »

Ok... Finally up and running with the NEW 2013 version. Finally was able to import my Uni.

I like a lot of the features, and the new interface. BUT. I am still having
a few issues, and want to ask before making anything worse.

Fight Date - Seems to be auto set for 2009, and even if I change it, it will reset
back to 2009 when starting my next fight? Can this be permanently set?

Changing Random Values - Ok, so I change a few settings (venue, referee, etc.)
then next fight? Settings stay as the fight before?
Shouldn't these reset to Random?

Skin Colors - So even though I've correctly set these, when I fight? The white guy is black.
The black guy is white?

Mass Edits - This one seemed easy enough, except that my changes did NOT take?

So it seems as if SOME values when changed STAY that way, some DO NOT?

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any responses...

This is picked up from the game date. There are two ways to control this both are in the options menu in the games options tab. You can ask the game to prompt you to enter a game date every time it loads for fine control or you can set a date offset. The offset is applied to the current date and used to set the game date as the game is loaded. For more info see the manual:

No, they will stay set until you clear them. You do this by selecting the setting, then when the list of records displays one of the rows will be highlighted. De-select this row and then click on "none" in the bottom right.

This is a fix in v1.3 which has not been released yet. I hope it will be soon. When it is the colour of the fighters will be selected for the fight.

Which option were you using and how many fighters did it say it had modified?

Paul,

Thank you very much for your timely reply... and even more so, for resurrecting this
wonderful game! In my book, you could not earn enough money to repay you for your work!

Cheers!

Now about the mass edit. I had tried to "change" a few options for ALL fighters (7k+)

They were the auto aging, and to be included in random fights, I believe. I am not
at a time I can open the game. Thanks again,

Hi Paul,

Did not have much luck with your "reset" advise.

"You do this by selecting the setting, then when the list of records displays one of the rows will be highlighted. De-select this row and then click on "none" in the bottom right."

Can you walk me through this again, or possibly explain it differently? I assume you mean
the setting (i,e, Referee), then it opens the Referee list. But nothing I do can cause the
"NONE" option to appear in the lower right corner?

I'm sure this is probably easy, I just cannot get it to work properly.

Yeah np, let use referees as an example..

* Click on the referee's name in the fight settings page
* You should now see the list of referees with one row highlighted in red
* Click on the red row and it changes to blue like the rest of the rows
* Click on the "none" button in the bottom right of the page

NOTE: the "none" button is only available after you remove the red highlighting from all rows.

That worked a charm, thank you Paul!

Somehow had not noticed the "click on the row, changes to blue" step before.
