Won't open on Mac now

Post by Jeff »

Instead of opening the program,
the first page (the one that says "Title Bout Championship Boxing")
comes up for a split second before closing.
The next screen that comes up says:
tbcb_macosr quit unexpectedly, click Reopen to open the application again.
This report will be sent to Apple automatically."

The current operating system is: OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.1.
The program used to open on the operating system that Mac had before El Capitan.
Please advise.

How strange, has anything changed recently? Do you know how to start a mac app from the terminal supplying command line arguments? If not, post the folder you have installed the game into and I will explain how to do it.

This is all that happens when I click on the tcbc2013 folder and drag it to this window:

/Applications/tbcb2013

However, if I drag the folder into an email, the actual folder icon appears.

If necessary, is there an email address that I could send this folder to?

Also, I tried to upload the folder in the "Upload attachment" section,
but when I hit "Add the file", the screen kept saying:
Safari can't open the page
"posting/php?
mode=reply&f=3&t=31421".
The error is: "The operation couldn't be completed. Is a directory"
(NSPOSIXErrorDomain:21)

The same message was displayed when attempting to attach the two subfolders
of the tbcb2013 folder, namely the "data" and "tbcb" folders.

Speaking of the tbcb folder, after the initial post I reinstalled the program,
and later tried double clicking on tbcb icon to get the program started.
Usually, a message comes up that says,

"The last time you opened tbcb_macosr, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows.
Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?
If you choose to not reopen windows, you may have to open and reposition windows yourself."
Underneath this message are two options, "Don't Reopen" and "Reopen".

After hitting Reopen, the screen says:
"tbcb_macosr quit unexpectedly, click Reopen to open the application again.
This report will be sent to Apple automatically."
I then hit the Reopen button on the bottom that page.

Most of the time, repeating this process several times will get the program to start.
Is there an easier way?

I have updated my mac to El Capitan and I can see that clicking on the TB icon or on the app gives this error. There seems to be no explanation on why it is happening. However I do have a work-around.

* find your tbcb.app file, which if you used the default install paths will be in /Applications/tb2013
* right click on tbcb.app and select "Show Contents"
* click into "Contents" then "MacOS"
* you will now see "tbcb_macosr", double click it
* you will get a warning saying that the game quit unexpextidly, select "ignore"

The game will now start and run. There is a crash on exit which is think is due to a depreciated sound library but it works fine. You can drag the "tbcb_macosr" to your desktop holding the cmd + cntr keys to make a link so its easier to start next time.
