I started with Create Game and then selected Start Fight. I chose the fighters, completed the bout, and after the Ring Announcer gave the outcome, I hit Continue and went to the page for the just completed bout. At the bottom the Update button was flashing and I updated the records, which showed on the screen. But after saving and exiting the game, when I went back in, neither fighter's records were updated. What can I do to make this work?
Thanks.

It sounds to me that the saved game failed to write to disk. Which system are you playing on? Did you install to the default folders?
Try going to the saved games folder, normally under My Documents, and check the access rights of your saved game.

Re: Problem Updating Records for Single Bouts
I am running under Windows 7 Professional. I actually re-downloaded and installed the game yesterday, to the default folders, to give everything the best chance to work. I clicked the Properties under the saved_games folder, and unchecked the Read Only attribute. But when I click OK, get out of Properties, and get back in again, the Read Only attribute is checked again. After the first time, I went into the game and ran a test bout, but it failed to save the records (even though I got the prompt to Update after the fight and the updated records showed within that game. When I exited and went back into the game, the records were not updated).
Many thanks again for your help. I await your reply.

Hmm, I am confused as to why you can;t change the read-only flag in your own "My Documents" folder. I have asked someone more familiar with Windows than myself and they told me its not possible! So do a disk scan and try again.
You problem is that Windows is not allowing you access to the saved game folder under My Documents, I am afraid I am not able to advise you on how windows works as I don;t use it! Sorry...
Maybe someone else here can offer a sugestion?.....

Re: Problem Updating Records for Single Bouts
Thanks for the suggestion, but I still have the issue where fights are not saved within the game. I can access the fight logs from Windows Explorer, as all the files are created properly. And once I finish a fight and update the records, those records show up within the game so long as I stay in the game. But as soon as I exit and restart the game, all records of fights are zeroed out from inside the game.javier_83 wrote:try running your tb game as an admin.

Please excuse my silly question, but you are selecting "Save Game" before you exit right?peterg28 wrote:Thanks for the suggestion, but I still have the issue where fights are not saved within the game. Re: Problem Updating Records for Single Bouts
Not a silly question at all, Paul, but yes, I have selected "Save Game" before exiting in the hopes that it might help. I still see every fighter's record as 0-0-0, after I save, exit, and restart the game. Only if I stay in the game during the same session do I see updated records. Once I exit, all are zeroed out again.Paul Norman wrote:Please excuse my silly question, but you are selecting "Save Game" before you exit right?
I know this is frustrating (for both of us), and I do appreciate your help.

Re: Problem Updating Records for Single Bouts
This has me very confused, do other stats save? Try changing a fighers name slightly, save and restart. Is the change there or has that been lost too?
Re: Problem Updating Records for Single Bouts
I started a game called "test" and changed one of the fighter's names. I saved and exited the game and went back in and continued that game. The change was still there. When I went out and came back in and started a new game called "test2", the change disappeared and went back to the original.Paul Norman wrote:This has me very confused, do other stats save? Re: Problem Updating Records for Single Bouts
If you go into "test" is the change there? What happens if you run a fight in "test" save then re-enter that game?
Are you saying starting a new game "test2" does not have the change you made in the game "test", if so this is totally expected. Each game starts from the installed data and is interdependent from any changes in other games.

Re: Problem Updating Records for Single Bouts
I think I get it now. If I want to have stats updated, then all the fights have to be fought using the same Game. As soon as I start a new Game, all records are at zero. I started a game called Fights, fought a couple of bouts, saved and exited, and went back into the program, continuing the Fights game. All of the updates are there. So I assume this is what I need to do going forward.Paul Norman wrote:If you go into "test" is the change there? What happens if you run a fight in "test" save then re-enter that game?
