I received a gamedata file from another player. How do I implement it it my game? I tried creating a new uni and replacing the gamedata file. Got an error that says "Check your saved game file and maybe do a disk scan." Tried copying and pasting the whole folder under saved games. Same error.

I'm assuming you're running the much maligned TB 2013? Wish you the best of luck, old chap.

I usually run 2.5, but this is a 2013 gamedata file. I thought it would be a relatively simple process.

Go to your saved games folder "My Documents/tbcb2013/saved_games". Create a folder with the name you want to give the new game, say "My New Game". Then place the gamedata file in that folder.

Now when you start the game you will see "My New Game" listed when loading a game.

Did that. Got an error message when it tried to load.

Ok, Seems your saved game was found but there is something wrong in the file itself. Where did you get the gamedata file from? Maybe try copying it again. If you use FTP make sure the transfer was in Binary mode.

It was zipped up and posted on mediafire

Who posted it up there?

That is a TB3 saved game. It has me extra career mode information in as well as my database indexing changes. There is no way TB2013 will be able to read that as it has a very different structure.

This saved game must have come from one of the Alpha testers.
